Become A Pilates Instructor
With Movement Collective Education

Interested in becoming a Pilates Instructor?

Movement Collective studios now offers its own recognised Pilates certification courses, through Movement Collective Education, licenced by Body Organics Education in Brisbane. A career as a Pilates Instructor can be fun and rewarding, with flexible working hours and a high level of job satisfaction. However, choosing the right Pilates certification course can be a daunting decision, with many options currently available.

Pilates Courses

Pilates is a complex movement therapy, so it’s a good idea to select a course that covers anatomy, pathologies and contraindications to movement. This will help to ensure you are providing the best Pilates experience for your clients, with tailored exercises that are safe for them to do.

Some Pilates courses advertise that you can become a Pilates instructor in just a matter of days, with little effort. Unsurprisingly, shortcut approaches to becoming a Pilates instructor have their shortfalls in terms of your learning experience, understanding, qualification, and ability to safely teach clients of all ages and physical abilities.

Attaining a recognised certification in Pilates instruction, which is valued by employers and clients alike, requires a thorough understanding of the Pilates method that only comes from undertaking thorough training and practice. It’s also highly beneficial to select a course that is recognised by Australian professional bodies such as the Pilates Alliance Australasia (PAA) and Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA), and ideally one whose qualification is recognised internationally.

Movement Collective Education's Pilates Courses

Movement Collective Education’s Pilates Courses meet all of the above criteria. We believe in the substance behind the name “Pilates” and we work with our students so that they are confident, capable, and safe in the way they teach Pilates.  Our graduates are trained to work in a variety of settings and with clients of any age or level of fitness.

Movement Collective Education, in partnership with its online training partner Body Organics Education, offers accredited Pilates teacher training courses.  The courses will be undertaken in our spacious, modern, well-equipped Broadway studio, with support from our Sydney educator: Erin Jones

Course Content

The education is divided into 6 blocks of learning. We have worked to create layers of understanding and knowledge so that you can refer back to the online material throughout the course and use your face to face training to practive what you’ve learnt and really focus on your skills as a teacher. This will allow you insights into movement, repertoire and pathology without being overwhelmed by too much information in one go. You will first receive access to each block’s online course material to go through before the face to face workshops and tutorials which will build on the knowledge acquired through the online learning.

This is included in the Mat and Reformer Certification.

In this block you will go through the foundations of movement anatomy as well as teaching basics. There is a strong focus on the principles of human movement and how this relates to the Pilates repertoire.
