Each year, Movement Collective Pilates and Education tries to give back to the local community by running a series of donation based classes or events.

This year we have aligned with Body Organics Education, A Brisbane based Pilates studio and Pilates course provider who we are proudly affiliated with to help host as a live stream support studio for Carla Mullins “Shouldering the Burden” workshop. This workshop will award you 2 PDP points with the Pilates Association Australia (PAA) for its members and you will leave with a solid understanding of how to work with the shoulder in a studio setting.

We will also be hosting a series of donation based community classes to help fundraise for Women’s and girls emergency centre in Redfern.

With Domestic Violence against Women becoming a national crisis we would like to try and help the 1 in 5 women who experience some form of domestic or sexual violence against them and try to make their Christmas that tiny bit better.

In 2023, 64 women lost were killed due to domestic violence. Currently one woman dies every four days at the hands of another man. Read that again.

WAGEC creates safe futures for all women and families by working to end gender-based violence in a generation.

Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) is a feminist, grassroots organisation that supports women and families in crisis and advocates for social change in the community. We are based in Redfern, Sydney and work on the lands of the Gadigal and Wangal people of the Eora Nation.

Every night, we support 200 women and children impacted by homelessness, domestic violence and systemic disadvantage. We do this by providing material aid, case management, biopsychosocial support, accommodation, and crisis responses. Equally we seek to address the underlying causes of gender-based violence through primary prevention activities with communities and private and public entities that want to be a part of the global movement to end gender based violence in a generation.
